This Meadow Brook Hall wedding was filled with gorgeous moody tones, unique styled elements, and some high fashion moments. My favorite touches from this day include the stunning lily bouquet, the pearl details, and the gowns. All details were specially curated for this day and to highlight not just the couples, but the extravagance of the venue itself.
Why Meadow Brook Hall Wedding?
Meadow Brook Hall is the perfect wedding venue for couples looking to host an upscaled, sophisticated event. The experience of a Meadow Brook Hall wedding truly starts as you enter the gates. The tree lined drive up to the estate is beautiful and gives a sense of privacy even though the venue is located in the heart of the city. The architecture and gardens provide the perfect space for celebrating wedding nuptials. The gardens are perfectly manicured and colorful. The Tudor-inspired architecture both inside and outside provides the perfect touch of history. The art and sculptures inside the estate will delight guests. The garden tent is wonderfully spacious and overlooks the grounds.
Meadow Brook Hall offers offers onsite catering and bartending. The food at this venue is just amazing. Outside of photos, I hear so many people remember weddings by the food they eat. Meadow Brook Hall offers an amazing menu that your guests will remember for years and continue to rave about well after your wedding day.
Favorite Spots For Portraits
While all of Meadow Brook Hall is stunning, I do have a few favorite spots for couples to take portraits in. The first are the gardens. With bubbling fountains, columns and walkways, and colorful florals (obviously depending on time of year), the gardens make a gorgeous spot for portraits. The gallery below was from the Fall and it’s perfectly moody with its orange and brown tones. The ambient lighting provided from one of the garden gates created the perfect late night portrait spot not far from the celebration tent.
Right out front of the estate is another favorite spot of mine. Along with capturing the details of the couple, the details from the architecture stand out and make for a stunning background. With iron gates, clean brick, and stunning window details, couples will have beautiful portraits from their Meadow Brook Hall wedding. The front door leading inside is tucked into a gated entryway. The gated entry way has great ambient lighting, and is architecturally pretty. In the winter time, couples could even take photos at night with all of the Christmas lights right outside the manor.
Takings portraits inside at your Meadow Brook Hall wedding is another favorite spot. The manor inside has so much history and art that add a historical detail to your wedding portraits. A few of my favorite indoor spots are the basement, grand staircase, and study. The basement created such a cozy atmosphere for these late night portraits. We added candles to give a more upscale vibe. I also had the couple in a window overlooking the basement while I captured them hanging out of it. The grand staircase is a work of art with the crafted banister. The study provides the perfect spot for some elevated groomsmen portraits. With books and tomes everywhere, it gives off the perfect vibe for a group of groomsmen getting ready.
Tips For Planning Your Meadow Brook Hall Wedding
Planning a wedding is truly such a wonderful experience, but it can also be stressful at times. I highly recommend implementing the following tips to ensure both planning and your wedding day run as smooth as possible.
The first is to hire a wedding planner. A planner is so so important. So many wedding planners fix issues on the day of your wedding while you focus on having fun. I recently worked a wedding day without a wedding planner and I could tell my couple was stressed. They had to make so many split second decisions that it was overwhelming to them. Missing table linens? Make up team is running behind schedule? Enacting a rain plan? Running out of drinks? These are all issues I’ve seen fixed (or prevented) by wedding planners without letting a bride know there was an issue to make sure the day ran smoothly. Hiring a wedding planner ensures you are able to live life in the moment without worrying about the details and little things. I highly recommend this!
Another tip for your Meadow Brook Hall wedding is to schedule a little extra time for your couple portraits. Meadow Brook Hall is such a large property. When planning your timeline I recommend making the time for portraits. Schedule extra time so you aren’t rushing from one end of the property to the other. Use all the spaces available for portraits or getting ready. When you look back on your wedding gallery, you’ll see such a variety that truly showcases not just you but Meadow Brook Hall. Also, I recommend scheduling extra time so if you do finish early, you can sneak away for a private moment with your new spouse. Spend as much time together as possible on your wedding day!
*A 2025 Update*
I wrote the above post originally at the very beginning of 2025. This Meadow Brook Hall wedding was a November event and was a beautiful fall day. I’m excited to share some news! A selection of these wedding at Meadowbrook Hall images were chosen for publication through Lens & Luxe Magazine. For September, Lens & Luxe chose me as one of their Spotlight Artists, featuring quite a few images from this day. I’m so incredibly excited to share this! It’s an honor to be featured in magazines, and I’m incredibly humbled to be chosen among so many talented artists. I’ve been featured in Lens & Luxe Magazine a few times this year and I’m so thankful to have my work shared and featured alongside others.
