About Meadow Brook Hall

As a Southeast and Mid Michigan wedding photographer who’s photographed 70+ weddings, I know the best Michigan wedding venues for your dream wedding day. Hi, friend! I’m Catie Eovaldi and I’ve been photographing weddings for the past 3 years.

Heading into my fourth year of wedding photography, I believe your wedding photos should truly reflect you. Your wedding day will some day be a sentimental memory, and you want images that make you remember even the smallest moments on your day. I believe the first step to amazing wedding photos actually starts at your engagement session and getting to know each other. You’ll get comfortable in front of the camera, but also walk away from this date night with photos to use throughout wedding planning and hang on the walls of your home.

On Michigan’s east side is the historic Meadow Brook Hall. As a national historic landmark, this tudor-style estate doubles as a wedding venue in the heart of Rochester Hills. Set back in a park, this peaceful property is the dreamiest wedding venue and it can also be used for engagement sessions. Engagement Photos Outside Meadowbrook Hall

Meadow Brook Hall is known for its amazing weddings and guest experience, and this experience really starts on the drive into the property. Driving through those front gates of the manor was an exciting experience. It’s such an opulent estate with many backdrop options for your engagement photos. The exterior of the manor has beautiful stonework and Tudor-inspired architecture, making this unique when compared to the other manor venues in Michigan. For these engagement photos we specifically worked in the gardens, patio, and indoor areas of Meadow Brook.

The trick to amazing engagement photos at Meadow Brook Hall (or any location really) is to relax and treat this time as a date. My personal photography style is rooted in connection and authenticity, so I love capturing the natural laughs and interactions you have while in front of the camera. Using natural movements and prompts, I help couples feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Portraits inside Meadow Brook Hall

The inside of Meadowbrook is overwhelmingly gorgeous. While the architecture makes the outside of this manor stand out, the inside stands out from all of the historical artwork hanging. Flash photography is prohibited in some areas of the estate due to the preservation of artwork. I often work in venues with low lighting and restrictions on flash though, so my experience was that this isn’t a huge issue. The vibes of the inside portion of these engagement photos were old money, vintage, with a touch of moodiness.

Meadow Brook Hall Engagement Costs

A lot of couples when planning their engagement session are shocked to find out their ideal session location charges fees or require permits. Oftentimes these costs are additional to the cost of hiring a photographer and couples are left with a choice to pay the permit fees or find a new location for their dream engagement photos.

Meadow Brook Hall charges $200 for a one hour engagement session on its property. This is totally separate from their wedding venue costs.

As a Michigan wedding photographer, I often work with Meadow Brook Hall and other locations like Cranbrook Gardens that charge photography site fees. When couples book with me, these fees are already factored into my costs and I handle the permit requests on their behalf. My couples are always at ease knowing this is taken care of for them and that the fees are already included in their session.
