As a photographer, I hear all the time how uncomfortable being in front of a camera is. I get it; I’m also super uncomfortable in front of the camera and I’m a photographer. Somewhere on Instagram is a photo of me looking WILDLY uncomfy at a Boys of Fall concert. All because a camera was pointed at us in the front row. It’s hilariously awkward and I can promise your images will turn out that badly. Hailey & Nolan put getting some professional couples photos on the back burner because they felt awkward in front of the camera. But look how cute these turned out! The simplest of date nights like this ice cream photo session can be the sweetest.
Ice Cream Photo Session
This ice cream photo session happened at Dairy Boy- a local little shop right off Gratiot in Marysville. With it’s classic red and white striped paint, you won’t be able to miss it. The ice cream is delicious and the workers are the sweetest. For this session, Hailey and Nolan ate ice cream for dinner. I can’t imagine a better dinner than ice cream on those hot summer nights. I actually had them go through the line twice to ensure we had enough ice cream for our quick half hour session!
Session Planning Advice
My best advice for couples a little anxious about getting professional photos: have fun with it! Make it into a date night. Talk to your photographer- I know that I always take the time to get to know my couples before a session. This helps make them a little more comfortable working with me and also so I can assist in creating their session. I like to plan sessions with intention. This means maybe planning a date night or using a sentimental location to you. It’s always important to be intentional when planning a session!
